The Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute of Florida (VGTI Florida®) is a non-profit biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding the roles of our immune system and our genes in disease, as well as the development of innovative treatments. We are in an expansion phase recruiting leading scientists from around the globe to join VGTI Florida where they can work side-by-side targeting infectious disease, cancer, and the impact of an aging immune system.
VGTI Florida's mission of "Translating Research Into Health®" directs our focus to the development of new vaccines and immunotherapies to boost the immune response to infectious diseases and cancer.
Of particular interest is understanding differences of the immune response in the elderly resulting in decreased immunity to infectious pathogens, even when vaccinated, and in the appearance of cancer in advanced age.
Through a better understanding of how an individual's genetic makeup and immune response contribute to disease we are discovering how to make our immune systems stronger and more protective against viruses and cancer. VGTI Florida is paving the way for discoveries that will improve the quality of individual treatment outcomes for patients and human health around the globe.
